Peter is Partner at Social Impact Capital, a global impact-focused venture capital firm based in New York City. A top-decile fund producing competitive venture returns, SIC invests in the “Best Ideas in Impact” by deploying an “Impact Arbitrage” strategy across geographies, sectors, and challenge domains, targeting impacts such as the environment, health, safety, social justice, and industrial transition. Having built the firm from inception as COO, Peter now oversees the development and management of key venture capital relationships, partnerships, advisors, investor relations, and portfolio support. Prior to joining the firm, Peter was Head of Business Development at Real Capital Innovation, an investment technology platform backed by 8VC and Soros Fund Management (acquired by Addepar). Peter started his career in Silicon Valley by creating an early-stage venture capital firm focused on high-impact areas of AI application, and institutional investor strategy consultancy, Kalytix Partners (acquired).
In his spare time, Peter is an advisor to global funds focused on the environment, health, and sustainability, such as Counterfactual Ventures, Brace VC, and Extantia. Peter is also an active angel investor in +20 global impact startups. A leading theorist on private market impact investments, Peter has led research over the last decade on impact finance, collaborating with Oxford University, Stanford University, Planet Heritage, and White Sand Investor Group (Donnelley family). His publications include Impact investments: a call for (re)orientation (2021), and Sovereign Development Funds: The Governance and Management of Strategic Investment Institutions, which was published in The Oxford Handbook of Sovereign Wealth Funds (2018).
In addition to his work, Peter is an Ambassador to the Rockefeller family’s BankFWD initiative, which is designed to transform the carbon footprint of global banking. He is also a member of Clearstone VC, Impact Capital Managers, TTI and GBx. Peter has an MPhil in Business Administration and Finance from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and a first-class honors BA in English and Critical Theory from Queen Mary, University of London.
